Winning at Weight Loss

Live Holistically is a multi-author site.

O.k. I admit it I’ve been watching Fat March. Why? Well to me it’s inspiring that this group of very overweight Americans have made it this far in their journey from Boston to Washington D.C. and yes it’s television but the last contestant that was voted off made a really good point. If he could do this at over 400 pounds why can’t the average person just get off the couch and walk. I know weight loss is not rocket science…it’s been explained to us over and over again. Calories in versus calories out… but many of us struggle with emotional eating. And many of us don’t walk the minimum recommended which is only 30 minutes per day, yes every day.

After my vacation this year, where I didn’t always make the best food choices, my clothes were tight again. So I’m back not dieting but choosing better foods and upping my daily exercise. Since I think the scale is pretty evil I now judge how I’m doing by how my clothes fit. And since I know food journaling really helps, I journal my food and exercise time on sparkpeople. Why sparkpeople? It’s FREE and it has a wonderful community of real people that are focused on getting fit and healthy. No gimmicks or craziness. Starting next Friday I will be blogging my progress here. If you’d like to join me please comment on this post. I will be weighing in just to get a starting point, but I am more concerned with my pant size so I will use that as another starting point. Knowing others are reading this and maybe will join me will keep me more honest about healthy eating. Especially since Halloween candy is right around the corner!

To give yourself the best chance make sure not to consume ‘any’ Aspartame. This chemical will help you on your way to being fat, and so many so called healthy foods contain it.

It has other names too: NutraSweet, Equal, Spoonful, Canderel, Benevia, Misura. In Europe Aspartame hides under the seemingly innocuous “E 951″ label. …

Hey, the scales may not be so important. Stick to low fat, exercise especially after eating and don’t worry, be happy, and replace that fat with muscle!
