Things I did right
- Chose fruit over processed sugar most of the week.
- Ate 5 smaller meals throughout the week.
- 4 days of exercise.
- Adding stretching to my weekly exercise. Adding yoga next week.
- Journaled food and exercise.
- Adding healthy soups to meals to feel fuller and increase vegetable consumption. Look for recipes on Sunday’s post.
Things I’m still working on.
- Mindless eating.
- Increasing my exercise to 7 days a week.
- Feeling deprived.
- Making time for myself first.
- Overthinking.

You can tap on feeling deprived, it’s one of the great successes of EFT.

Ok, this morning I choose healthy protein cereal without milk (dry I like it that way) over toast and peanut butter. - CARB CITY!…:)
Wow Pat, sounds like you’re doing a really good job. Don’t feel deprived though. There are so many yummy foods that are also good for you. I think being healthy, losing weight and eating well means you can eat as much of the good stuff as you want (fruit, vegetables, nuts, seeds, grains, etc).
I was slowly putting on weight so I cut out ALL processed food, refined flour and sugar, and the weight just fell off me. I never cut down the size of meals I ate and I never felt hungry. I used to have a piece of white bread toast or cake every morning with the girls at work for morning tea. I changed that to a cup of tea and a piece of buttered rye toast. I was surprised that it tasted good and I quickly got used to it. I now find that white bread is thick and heavy and feels a bit yuck to eat.
I also find social sport really important. I think exercising on your own is really boring so I’ve found sport that I can do with people. I rollerblade with a group at least once a week (great for my arse and thighs!), cycle and walk with a girl friend every now and again (which is great because we don’t realise we’re exercising because we’re too busy talking) and I do a weekly yoga class which has great people that I’m forming friendships with.
Also if you’re walking or cycling with a friend, walk to a cafe for breakfast or lunch. It makes it more fun
Just don’t walk to McDonalds, try a more healthier cafe.
Oh, one last thing. I stopped cooking meat at home. This was a really good way to eat a lot more vegetables. Without meat you’re kind of forced to eat vegetables.
Good luck with it!
Thanks Frances! I’m getting ready to get back to yoga after too long of an absence and I agree hiking with friends never seems like exercise. Thanks for the tips.
Thanks to you too Carol, I’m going to try that this week!
