The Surprising, Unbiased Truth About What You Should Eat and Why

I recently added these two books to my “food/cookbook library”.The first book by nutrionist Jonny Bowden gives his unbiased opinion on the nutrional value of “the top healthiest food on earth” it also goes into depth why these foods are so healthy. And yes, some of my favorites made the cut…red wine, chocolate, and watermelon. This should be required reading starting with grade school students and anyone who has questions about what constitutes a healthy diet.

The New Moosewood Cookbook (Mollie Katzen's Classic Cooking)

My second addition is The New Moosewood Cookbook by Mollie Katzen. This book was originally published in 1977 and continues to be a favorite with vegetarians and people looking to try a vegetarian diet. Author Mollie Katzen “was selected by Health magazine as one of the “Five Women Who Changed the Way We Eat. ” and I for one am glad she did. Another favorite of mine is her Enchanted Broccoli Forest. I reach for this cookbook often and it’s a great gift for the vegetarian in your life that hasn’t yet discovered Mollie Katzen’s fun, delicious books. A healthy diet and/or a vegetarian diet does not have to be boring.
