Sometimes life sends huge messages to remind you that you have the tools to deal with any situation, Why aren’t you using them? I think this was one of those times.
The first step that I needed to take was a complete overview of the situation. I was giving a problem ‘out there’ the power to shatter my inner peace and allow it to make me feel ill, and I knew better than that. I also new that it doesn’t matter how many times you stamp your foot and demand that something changes, you will get more of the same, because you are concentrating on what you don’t want, rather than what you do. How on earth was I to motivate myself to take charge of my life again.
I’d only just come into contact with Gary Craig and his EFT procedure, and wasn’t even sure if it worked as it looked so silly, but by now I was fed up with being fed up, so I gave it a go. I used the set- up : “Even though I don’t think this is going to work” and then “Even though I can’t rise above this vibration” and then the physical problems too. Although by now I had got some motivation to go back to my books to look at the emotional causes of these debilitating ills. (Something was working)
Migraine Headaches and Tension are two aspects of one dis-ease, self-criticism, which leads to believing that, “You’re just not good enough”, which in turn leads to fear that you really aren’t good enough and then violent pain. I made that into a tapping statement: “Even though I love to criticise myself” and then Affirmed “I see myself, and what I do with eyes of love” and said this at least 50 times a day.
After about 3 weeks I began to feel better. Had the *strimmer gone away? No, but I was having different thoughts about the situation. I began to see the gardener as a, “Good and faithful servant” doing the job that he was paid to do, and doing it in all weathers. (He never stops, not even when it’s raining!) Instead of being depressed and wanting to move house, I was choosing different thoughts. Throwing thunder bolts at his infernal machine didn’t work, anyway, he has two.
I was now in the wonderful position to be able to look at the problem objectively. A good solution would be to make the graveyard into a wild-life sanctuary, plant some more trees, put benches for people to sit on and level the ground so that the grass can be mown.
By now I’m into my stride. I know that anything can be changed by the power of thought, but that any form of manipulation of another’s thoughts, is not the right way to go. I decided not to start a political campaign, or write to the local newspaper with helpful suggestions on making the environment a better place for people, animals and insects. I started a healing campaign instead.
It’s very easy. I send healing, loving energy to: the Land, the Vicar, the Gardener and all those people who had complained about the long grass. I think I was still harbouring ill thoughts towards them, and so I had to make sure that all was forgiven. I continue to do this today, and haven’t had any stress related illnesses for many years now, and because my mind is easy and I sometimes don’t even hear the dreaded machinery, I have been patient.
My patience and love have been rewarded. Only last week a letter was delivered from the church informing us that: “The Bishop has given the go-ahead for an ambitious plan to landscape the graveyard.” We are to have, the ground leveled, more trees and a wild meadow planted and benches that people might sit and meditate (or eat their sandwiches) and watch the wild-life.
Ah, peace I can feel you descending…..
*For those Americans out there, a strimmer = weed eater.

Thanks for joining in our Shared Answers Group Writing Project. Mindset can be a powerful thing.
This reminds me of the saying that life is 10% what happens to us and 90% how we respond to what happens to us.
