- I never grow my nails long. I just think about it.
- I always wear a bra to work. Now days I really have to.
- Getting introduced to someone then being asked if I can massage the shoulder that is killing them. I watch in amazement as they take their shirt off.
- People who are always 20 minutes or more late for their appointment.
- The person who has to answer their phone and have a 5 or 10 minute conversation. And insist that the massage continue as they talk.
- People who forget their appointment, then tell me how badly they needed to get in as they make their next appointment two weeks out.
- The customer is always right.
- The new client who makes an appointment and doesn’t show up.
- People who bring their spouse or significant other to the appointment with them. I have a reception area, but they don’t want to miss a thing.
- The spouse or significant other who wants a free massage lesson while their mate is getting a massage.
- Giving a free consultation and then having a medical group send their treatment reports for someone who never actually had an appointment.
- People who come for a massage, pick my brain about other therapies that I do and what I would recommend for them; then go see someone else.
- Doing everything: cleaning the office, keeping the books, laundry, budgeting, advertising, laundry, marketing, laundry, cleaning the office, laundry……….
- People who ask for a free massage to see if they want to be a client.
- Massage therapists that give a reduced rate or a free massage for first time client. There is no other health professional that feels they have to do anything for anyone for free.
- Massage therapist that do things that gives my profession a bad representation.
- People who are hoping I am that bad massage therapist.
- People who abuse themselves then want a quick fix.
- My urge to help others no matter what.
- People who ask what they can do to make their situation better, then don’t.
