  1. I never grow my nails long. I just think about it.
  2. I always wear a bra to work. Now days I really have to.
  3. Getting introduced to someone then being asked if I can massage the shoulder that is killing them. I watch in amazement as they take their shirt off.
  4. People who are always 20 minutes or more late for their appointment.
  5. The person who has to answer their phone and have a 5 or 10 minute conversation. And insist that the massage continue as they talk.
  6. People who forget their appointment, then tell me how badly they needed to get in as they make their next appointment two weeks out.
  7. The customer is always right.
  8. The new client who makes an appointment and doesn’t show up.
  9. People who bring their spouse or significant other to the appointment with them. I have a reception area, but they don’t want to miss a thing.
  10. The spouse or significant other who wants a free massage lesson while their mate is getting a massage.
  11. Giving a free consultation and then having a medical group send their treatment reports for someone who never actually had an appointment.
  12. People who come for a massage, pick my brain about other therapies that I do and what I would recommend for them; then go see someone else.
  13. Doing everything: cleaning the office, keeping the books, laundry, budgeting, advertising, laundry, marketing, laundry, cleaning the office, laundry……….
  14. People who ask for a free massage to see if they want to be a client.
  15. Massage therapists that give a reduced rate or a free massage for first time client. There is no other health professional that feels they have to do anything for anyone for free.
  16. Massage therapist that do things that gives my profession a bad representation.
  17. People who are hoping I am that bad massage therapist.
  18. People who abuse themselves then want a quick fix.
  19. My urge to help others no matter what.
  20. People who ask what they can do to make their situation better, then don’t.
